With the release of version 4.4.0 of the app, gradually being introduced at all KINOPOLIS locations starting from March 2024, customers will be able to purchase tickets, snacks, drinks, and merchandise products. Upon acquiring tickets and collecting snacks & drinks, customers can proceed directly to their cinema hall or the snacks & drinks pickup counter using the purchased codes, reducing wait times on-site.

The most significant changes come in the ticket purchasing process. The selection of the best seats is now automated immediately after choosing the seat category, but customers can still manually select their preferred seats if desired. For added convenience, a 360-degree view allows customers to virtually place themselves in different positions within the auditorium to better grasp its dimensions.

The entire ticket purchasing process guides users through the new features. Customers can explore attractive combo deals (tickets with snacks/drinks), decide to customize their ticket category with culinary selections, and make snack/drink choices at the cinema itself. Once snack/drink choices are made, customers can trigger preparation at any time and collect their items from the pickup counter.

New payment options and combinations have also been introduced. Customers can now combine vouchers for tickets and/or snacks with credit cards (e.g., CineCards or "The Movie Voucher") and bonus points from CineCard premium in a single transaction. Payment via PayPal or credit card remains available, and any remaining balance after using the mentioned payment methods can be settled with them as well.

In cinemas offering in-seat service, customers can place orders directly from their seats and have items delivered to them.

Additional features include:

• Display of auditorium occupancy in the schedule
• Earning and redeeming bonus points (for CineCard premium club members)
• Sharing cinema visits with friends via Facebook and WhatsApp
• Easy login via fingerprint (Touch ID), PIN, email address, or customer card
• Storing tickets in the Wallet app
• Customizable cinema schedule formats (list or poster view, daily or weekly)
• Detailed information on all movies (including cast, trailers, duration) and current events
• Managing personal data, purchases, and customer cards in "My Account"
• Having suitable gift vouchers for any occasion
• Redeeming vouchers directly through the app including a barcode scanner for vouchers (from iOS version 7 onwards)
• Information about the cinema visit such as directions, parking, opening hours, and technical details about the cinema

Please note:

We are launching the new app and enabling all features at KINOPOLIS Gießen in March. Subsequently, Hamburg and Bad Homburg locations will follow suit, with all features becoming available to all customers at all locations in the following weeks.
